Recycling & processing

Biomassfuel that runs smoothly.

Waste wood, bark, green cuttings and forest residues are anything but uniform. For CHP plants, pellet plants and gasifiers, what counts is a fuel of consistent size – and a feed system that runs reliably.

Highlighted are the steps that usually occur with this material. Your plant may differ – shorter, longer or combined differently.

02Challenges

What this material demands of the technology.

01

Contaminants

Stones, metal parts and nails damage shredders and boilers. Magnetic separators and separation protect the line.

02

Moisture & variation

Fresh and dry material alternate. Storage and dosing even out differences before they reach the boiler.

03

Oversize pieces

Single long pieces cause faults in conveyors and discharge. Screening removes oversize and returns it.

04

Dust & fire protection

Fines need enclosed conveying routes and a well-thought-out concept for extraction and fire protection.

Typical input material

  • 01Waste wood
  • 02Bark and forest residues
  • 03Wood chips
  • 04Green cuttings and landscape wood
  • 05Sawmill by-products

Typical goals

  • →Fuel in a defined piece size
  • →A buffered supply in bunker or silo
  • →Even boiler feed
  • →Raw material for pellet and briquette plants

05FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01Why does dosing matter so much?

Boilers like consistency. Controlled discharge from bunker or silo provides a constant fuel flow and therefore smooth operation.

02Can you extend an existing feed system?

Yes. We survey the existing plant – by 3D laser scan on request – and plan the extension or conversion to fit what is there.

03Do you also work outside Europe?

Yes. Our projects range from Luxembourg to Africa – for example chipping plants for rubber trees in Nigeria and Ghana.
